STAR AND PLANETARY OBSERVATION WITH OUR TELESCOPE

We have a professional-grade computerised telescope, and if the skies are clear, we may be able to give you an astronomical tour of the heavens. We have no ‘light pollution’ so the clear night skies are stupendous.

ENJOY THE OUTDOORS​

There’s a BBQ we encourage you to use, and feel free to use any of the outdoor seating and dining areas, including the BBQ deck. Do stroll the gardens, mindful of the areas marked 'Private.'

BRING YOUR PET

Pets may be welcome, though please discuss with us before booking. We have sheep and alpacas in neighbouring paddocks, and we need to ensure their safety. Just let us know the breed of your dog. The Otways can be wet, so please 'towel off' your dog before letting them inside, and they are not allowed on beds or furniture.

During school holidays and on long weekends, we have minimum stay periods.

Terms and Conditions for Bookings

1. Definitions

• "We," "Us," "Our": Refers to The Otway Haven and The Otway Nest.

• "Guest," "You," "Your": Refers to the individual or entity making the booking.

2. Booking Confirmation

• A booking is confirmed only after payment is received in full and you receive a booking confirmation email from us.

• By making a booking, you agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.

3. Payment Policy

• Full payment is required at the time of booking.

• All payments are non-refundable, except as explicitly stated in these Terms and Conditions.

4. Cancellation Policy

• By the Guest:

  • If you cancel your booking for any reason you'll receive a 100% refund for cancellations made by you 45 days or more before your stay, less card processing costs. For cancellations made by you or us between seven and 45 days before your stay, we will provide a credit of 100% of the amount paid, to be used within the following twelve months. These refunds or credits are conditional on our finding new guests for the day/s cancelled. If you reschedule, the rate may be higher - or lower - than your original booking, depending on the time of year. Claims must be made within 30 days after the occurrence of the event giving rise to such claim.

• By Us:

  • We reserve the right to cancel your booking for reasons including but not limited to safety, unforeseen circumstances, or breach of these terms by you.

  • In such cases, no refund will be provided, but alternative arrangements may be considered at our sole discretion.

5. Changes to Bookings

• Requests to modify your booking (e.g., change dates) may be accommodated at our discretion and may incur additional fees.

6. Guest Responsibilities

• You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of your booking details.

• You must comply with all house rules during your stay, as provided at the time of check-in or booking.

7. Limitation of Liability

• We are not liable for any loss, damage, or inconvenience arising from cancellations, changes, or issues outside our control (e.g., natural disasters, governmental restrictions).

8. Governing Law

• These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Victoria. Any disputes arising out of these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.

9. Acceptance of Terms

• By proceeding with a booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
